Ketogenic diet...

Yes, I absolutely love the idea of eating bacon and butter all the time... But what is a ketogenic diet really? On a ketogenic diet, your entire body switches its fuel supply to run almost entirely on fat. Insulin levels become very low, and fat burning increases dramatically. It becomes easy to access your fat stores to burn them off. This is obviously great if you’re trying to lose weight, but there are also seem to be other less obvious benefits, such as less hunger and a steady supply of energy. A ketogenic diet is not suitable for everyone, doctors say that if you are on medication for diabetes or high blood pressure or if you are breastfeeding you should avoid these kinds of diets. Want to force your body to always burn fat for energy — so you lose the fat and keep it off? Turbulence Training - Ever heard of it?

There is a new thing causing a bit of a stir among us health freaks called Turbulence Training , that claim all those old boring so called experts and doctors are dead wrong. You should NOT do hours and hours of running, pedaling and stepping... or whatever you're told by them to do. Recently, several new studies have revealed that long, slow and boring cardio workouts actually SABOTAGE your natural ability to burn ugly belly fat. Instead you should do it all relatively fast and in one go... Sounds like a good business plan to me, 80% of your results come from 20% of your efforts - so why do endless amounts of cardio and redundant strength training exercises? In fact, research shows that all those different treadmills, elliptical machines and stairmasters can actually train your body to STORE fat instead of burning it. Other studies again show that cardio not only makes you fatter, it also ages you faster. In a study published in the Journal of Sports Medicine and Physica...

10 Biggest Health Scams Exposed

Most of us have, every now and then, a feeling that the doctors don't always do what is best for us, that they more think about their wallets than our health. Well, in some cases that even might be true, but generally speaking I tend to believe they are hard working sincere men and women. Then I stumble over an article like this, " 10 biggest health scams exposed ", written by Jessica Coffey . There are some really disturbing claims presented in it - almost sound conspiratorial at some places - but the whole thing is too long to refer in this short text. I quote a few short lines from it, you can read the whole article HERE . "In the past 30 years, the number of vaccines parents are supposed to give their children has tripled (and, not coincidentally, so have disease rates). And to make matters worse, there are more vaccines being rolled out every year. One of them is so dangerous we haven't had to wait 10 or 20 years to see the devastating side effects....

Life Hacks concerning weight loss

So I was browsing the net, doing nothing special, the way we way too often do, when I stumbled over something called "Life hacks". There seem to be a gazillion of places out there, giving useful and sometimes not so useful but funny, with these life hacks. Here a few examples concerning weight loss: * Drinking green tea before bed will allow your body to burn calories while sleeping. Green tea also increases your metabolism. * The best water to boost weight loss: 2 L water, 1 medium cucumber, 1 lemon and 10-12 mint leaves. Steep overnight in the fridge. Drink every day. A great detox, and clear skin. Both of those are very good for you, that is sure. I've a lot of articles about the benefits of Red Tea lately. Apparently the red tea comes from a bush in Africa, called Rooibos (a Hibiscus, I believe) and it seem to be better than the green one in activating your metabolism, helping your body detox and much more. Some say it cures headaches, insomnia, asthma, eczema...
