10 Biggest Health Scams Exposed

Most of us have, every now and then, a feeling that the doctors don't always do what is best for us, that they more think about their wallets than our health. Well, in some cases that even might be true, but generally speaking I tend to believe they are hard working sincere men and women.

Then I stumble over an article like this, "10 biggest health scams exposed", written by Jessica Coffey. There are some really disturbing claims presented in it - almost sound conspiratorial at some places - but the whole thing is too long to refer in this short text. I quote a few short lines from it, you can read the whole article HERE.

"In the past 30 years, the number of vaccines parents are supposed to give their children has tripled (and, not coincidentally, so have disease rates). And to make matters worse, there are more vaccines being rolled out every year. One of them is so dangerous we haven't had to wait 10 or 20 years to see the devastating side effects."

"Not all vitamin supplements are created equal and the most dangerous ones on the market may be sitting in your medicine cabinet right now."

"Commercial weight-loss programs are designed to make you fat. Read about the dangerous ingredients you're consuming in these meals and how they're slowly destroying your health while keeping you fat."

And much, much more. And worse. I really urge you to read it, this one literally might save lives.

Coffee may come with a cancer warning label in California!

Well... We all know strange things happen. All the time and all over the world. Here is one example: A preliminary decision from a California superior court judge in Los Angeles could affect thousands of coffee shops including Starbucks, 7-Eleven and even your local gas station. In the future the shops may have to put up a warning that tells customers there is a possible cancer risk linked to their morning cup of java. At the same time, anyone that is 21 and older can buy and consume marijuana when you're in California, regardless of whether you're a resident of the state or just visiting. It’s called “recreational” marijuana, to distinguish it from “medical” marijuana, which requires a doctor’s recommendation. Ok, we all know both coffee and marijuana is good for you. As long as you don't overdo the usage of the stuff, but that goes for about everything you consume, from bananas to cheese. The health benefits of coffee I wrote about back in february , have a look a...

Ultra-processed foods, again linked to increased cancer risk

As most of us already know ultra-processed foods are not known for their health qualities. Still it is so hard to resist a doughnut to your cup of java and a piece of candy every so often. Researchers have discovered that people who eat more ultra-processed foods have a higher risk of cancer. Such foods are the ones with unrecognizable and unpronounceable words on the list of ingredients -- anything from the candy that turns your tongue blue to healthier-sounding canned soups packed with artificial flavors, additives or emulsifiers. There is a good article about this in the Jama Network if you want to read more about the study. The scientists found that a 10% increase in the proportion of ultra-processed foods in the diet was associated with a significant increase of greater than 10% in risks for overall cancer and breast cancer. But none of this come as news, folks, we all know all of this deep down inside already. Next time you feel the urge to get a snack, you might glance i...

Homemade wine making - Now I've tried it!

My Father is in to it, my brother is there, many of my friends always have the bucket bubbling... I have never before tried it myself until now! But I suppose I am hooked now too. Homemade wine making is fast becoming very popular across the world. You can make it taste the way you want, and basically use whatever you have - or like - for your base flavor. I am most definitely going to play around more whit this! First things first - how much do you want to make? I recommend at least 5 gallons (~19 liters). Why? An old truth is this: Beginning home wine makers just cannot wait to taste what they have made. In addition, 5 gallons is only 25 bottles. So you'll get the batch finished, and then you will try a bottle or 2 or 3. Then you'll wait a week and try a few more bottles. Sooner than later, pretty much sooner I noticed, it will all be gone before it has a chance to age and get really good. With 5 gallons to begin with - you just might be tempted to let a few of the...
